Mattias’s POV

“Sir, look, this is the only footage we have of him. He had purposely worn a cap and avoided all camera angles, which makes it really difficult to see his face. It seems this person has been in and out of your home to know where the cameras are placed,” one of the officers said, pointing to the screen.

“No one has ever been to my home. In fact, I made sure not to openly disclose where my family and I lived,” I shot back, frustrated.

“You mentioned that you suspected your cousin, who is locked up in a psychiatric hospital. Can you identify his body without seeing his face?” the cop asked, turning the screen toward me.

“Although it’s a bit dark and unclear,” the officer said.

“Let me see.” I stood up and leaned closer to the screen.

The officer was indeed right. The figure was barely identifiable; it was dark, and he wore a cap, a black hoodie, and black jeans. Yet something deep inside kept telling me it was Lucas. I tried hard
