Chapter 22. Aleah Should Have Been Mine

“Argh!” Lucas screeched in frustration.

He threw the vase from the dressing table into the corner of the room, hitting the wall before it fell shapelessly to the floor along with the other broken items.

The room was in a mess.

Shards of glass everywhere, everything shattered by Lucas’ sudden rampage after the man’s sudden return from Canada.

Wendy, meanwhile, remained frozen in the doorway, witnessing how horrible Lucas’ tantrum was until the man’s shoulders seemed to slump and then he collapsed on the floor. Lucas cried bitterly and occasionally rubbed his face roughly. He looked so distraught.

“What’s wrong with you, Luke?” Wendy asked in a calm voice as softly as possible. She then slowly approached Lucas and gently rubbed his back.

“I should be the one beside him, Wendy. I should be the one beside him,” Lucas’ rant further confused Wendy.

“Who do you mean by that? Who is ‘she’?” asked Wendy, still trying to calm Lucas down by gently rubb
