Chapter 24. Drunk with Romance
After many months, Samuel and Aleah’s project was finally completed.
“I can finally hug the bonus money from this project!” Aleah squealed happily, prancing happily in her office.
Meanwhile, Samuel just shook his head and chuckled at his wife’s celebratory behavior.
“Do you love money more than me, you’re not that happy when I say I love you every day.” Samuel chuckled amusedly and pinched Aleah’s cheek affectionately.
“I love you, Sam, but I also love money. Because if there’s no money, life will be hard. I don’t want to feel that way again.”
Aleah may have said these things calmly and cheerfully, but what reached Samuel’s eyes and ears was different. There was a sad tone in Aleah’s voice.
“Did you ever go through that difficult phase, dear? You’ve never told me about that part,” Samuel asked, his brow furrowed in confusion and his eyes looking at Aleah curiously.
