Chapter 112

The doctor's voice echoed in her head, but her brain refused to understand.  

"No... It's impossible," she whispered, her body faltering.

Maria covered her mouth, her tears falling instantly. "Oh my God... Celine..."  

Nico stepped forward, gripping the collar of the doctor's coat with trembling hands. "You must be lying! You're a doctor! You could have saved her!"  

The nurse near them gasped, but the doctor remained calm even though his face showed sadness.  

"We tried everything, sir. I understand this is hard for you, but-"  

"LIES!" Nico shouted, his voice full of anger and pain. "Celine couldn't have died! She promised she would always be with me! She promised!"  

Maria immediately pulled Nico up, trying to calm his emotions.  

"Nico, son, please, calm down..." Maria cried, holding her son's face. "I know it hurts, but you have to be strong..."
