Weston’s gaze locked onto mine, sharp and unyielding. “I’m sorry, but who the hell are you?”
My breath hitched. “What?”
“Who are you? And why the hell did you just hug me?”
“Weston, it’s me—Alex.”
His jaw tightened. “I don’t know you. And I sure as hell don’t appreciate strangers hugging me like that.”
I turned to Claire, then Roland, then Dominic and Adrian. Their faces mirrored my shock.
Dominic’s voice dropped to a growl, teeth clenched so the humans wouldn’t hear. “Dude, what the f*ck is wrong with you? That’s Alex. Your mate. Our Luna.”
Weston just stared at him, brow arched. “Bro, I don’t have a mate. And this pack sure as hell doesn’t have a Luna.”
A gasp tore from my throat. He wasn’t lying. He believed it.
Roland cut in, voice low. “This isn’t the place.” He turned to the officer. “Sir, may we take my son home?”
“Yes. His statement’s been taken, and he’s cleared. You’re free to go.”
