The Wolf was a smokescreen. For both himself, and the other crime lords on Earth. Alex and Bella were nothing more than props, just like the captives before them.

Yet, Alex couldn't help remembering the disgust he'd felt at Maureen and Zander's flagrant interest. His contempt for their soft minds, their immature outlooks.
