Briar’s POV

I laughed so hard as I watched Finn attempt to catch Luna as she darted between the trees, her tiny legs carrying her faster than seemed possible for a four-year-old. Their giggles echoed through the small clearing where we’d stopped to rest, a sound that warmed my heart despite everything we’d been through.

"Mama, look!" Luna called out, spinning in circles with her arms outstretched. "I’m flying like the birds!"

"Very impressive, sweetheart," I called back, unable to keep the smile from my face. It was moments like these that reminded me what we were fighting for—their innocence, their joy, and their future.

Finn stumbled over to me, his dark hair tousled and cheeks flushed from running. "Mama, how much longer until we get to the Lycan kingdom?"
