The next day, Erin and Chris made it to work, laughing and chatting as they entered the company, but something was off…

Almost all of the employees quickly stopped what they were doing, their eyes fixated on Chris and Erin. Erin’s brows furrowed for a moment, glancing all around her, but all she saw were the strange looks of chattering employees. “What’s going on?”

Chris simply shrugged his shoulders, walking towards his office. “Probably some company news or something. Nothing important.”

Erin slowly began to walk towards her office as well, glancing all around her. “I hope so…”

Soon enough, Chris and Erin had made it to the meeting room before they were quickly stopped by an assistant. “Mrs. King, Mr. Carter…” The assistant remained silent for a moment, glancing between both of them before quickly collecting herself. “Mr. King had requested to see you.”
