Brielle POV

She felt strong hands catch her before she could fall to the ground.

The two guards in the room had come to her aid, and she didn’t like it at all

Blinking her eyes incessantly, Brielle tried to remove the image in front of her, but it was still stuck there.

Cassius Warren, her father, was still alive.

Her lips trembled this time as she remembered the day their house caught fire.

She had crawled out of the smoke-filled house, exhausted and in pain.

What had he been doing that day?

Brielle had no idea why, but she had a sinister thought that she refused to believe.

Did her father set fire to the house on purpose? Had he left her to die? He had probably planned to kill her, and now that she wasn’t dead as he had hoped, he was going to do it all over again.

Is that why he had bought her? Why he’d duped her as well, treating her luxuriously and masking the horror she would face.
