Chapter 67
Seeing Imani sitting down in the passenger seat in the car he had once hit her with, he couldn’t help but see how far they’d come and how much things have changed for the better. The last month had been filled with hell and maybe the witches were right, a disaster did befall on him.
That very moment when he heard Imani was gone, something ripped inside of him leaving a very empty spot. It wasn’t just that, his mother had tried to stop him for some very ridiculous reason, well not entirely ridiculous given that she was his mother and cared for him. But, he most definitely didn’t care at that point—anything that would stop him from getting to Imani at the right time was ridiculous to him.
His hands turned clammy thinking that if he had arrived a little late and he found her—Nope, he wasn’t going to think about that now. She was here now, fine and alive, distant but alive. He remembered the very discussion he had with his mother when Murchardh announced Imani was missing.
