Chapter 85
ISABELLA
The midday sun casts a soft light over the city as Lorenzo and I leave the restaurant, satisfied after a pleasant Italian lunch. The scent of spices and coffee still hangs in the air as we walk towards the car parked on the side of the road.
The silence between us is comfortable, but I notice the thoughtful expression in Lorenzo's eyes. As we get into the car, I see a flicker of sadness cross his face, and I decide it's time to address the issue that has been plaguing his mind.
"You seem distant. Did something happen at lunch?", I ask, seeing that he is deep in thought next to me in the car.
Lorenzo sighs before answering, his eyes fixed on the busy road.
"It's just that I don't like remembering my past, that's a part of my life I want to forget, Isabella.", he says with a serious expression, and I nod, understanding.
