Chapter 15

I have no choice but to tell the Attorney that we should continue this discussion tomorrow. Since I was in a hurry and had been paged to go to the Operation room, I had no time to waste. But I admit... the news I discovered from our family attorney, the news had a huge impact on me.

That made me lose my focus.

"Do you still hear us, Doc Andrea?" one of the surgeons questioned me. "Are you aware that the operation is starting now?"

"Y-Yeah," I stammered. "I'm sorry..."

Even though my mind was floating and I can't help but think about the house that Mike mortgaged to the bank, I admit that I'm having a really hard time focusing. But if I don't fix my job, an innocent person's life could be in danger.

"Please be careful of separating the chest from the bone..." I reminded the surgeons inside this room as they began the procedure of open-heart surgery.

Using some tools needed to open the chest of the patient, I kept averting my eyes during the process
