Chapter 19. Betrayal

Betrayal is one of my biggest fears. It occurs on a variety of levels all the time, and there is no worse feeling than discovering that someone you thought you could trust has turned against you. The most heartbreaking aspect of betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies. There must be trust before there could be a betrayal. As one can see, betrayal is a cruel and hurtful act. It can leave a lasting impression on someone’s heart and cause them to lose faith in loved ones. It is difficult to deal with being entirely fooled, which is what being betrayed entails.
