I headed to the kindergarten to pick up the kids and I smiled as I watched them walk out of the class. “Mom!” They squealed as they ran up to me and I opened my arms as I hugged them.

“How was school? What did you do?” I demanded as I grabbed their lunch boxes.

“A mean boy tried to bully Jannie but I stepped in and stopped him.” Jay announced and I paused for a moment, grinning as I patted his head.

“Really? It’s good to see you protect your sister, one day you’re going to protect your father and I then the pack.” I replied and he shrugged.

“Then I’m going to work very hard so I can be very strong and big.” He replied and I chuckled.

“I love you so much.” I whispered as I put them inside the car and headed to the cafe. With Julia’s present predicament, I was the one in charge and it was something I bore with a smile, she had been in charge for five years so this was like me returning the favor.
