Chapter 57. Feel Different

I paused as I noticed Aurora’s door slightly open. I had shut the door before I left with the doctor, and no one was supposed to be in here except the nurses.

I heard shuffling of feet, and I pushed the door open. A nurse was standing beside the drip, frightened. I glanced at her, the drip and Aurora, trying to understand what was going on.

“Is something wrong?” I asked, as she trembled. She looked pale, and her lips quivered. Her behavior felt strange.

She shook her head, stuttering. “No, you scared me, that’s all. I was just checking her vitals.”

“Okay. Is she good? Do you need the doctor?”

“Yes…no, I mean. She’s alright. I’m just making my final rounds for today.”

“You don’t sound good, though. Is everything okay?” I peered closely at her.

She moved towards the door, nodding. “Yes, I am. I have just been on my feet all day. You know how it is?”
