Jett had been able to drag himself to where his phone lay on the couch and had called the ambulance to come pick him up, which they did. Once in the hospital, the nurses had rolled out a stretcher and moved him to an emergency ward where one of his doctor colleagues had come to attend to him.
Never in his life had he thought he'd be in a situation that'd get him shot at. Never in his life had he imagined what it felt like to be shot at and then lay on the hospital bed to have a bullet pulled out of his leg.
The pain was excruciating and brain damaging; the sedatives they had given him did little to nothing to happen. That made him wonder if doctors or medical persons were immune to sedatives because he could remember vividly that he had carried out surgeries on patients whom he had induced with these sedatives and they had laid on their beds like they felt nothing.
