Chapter 53

Blessing without looking back marched into the apartment building.

May blinked at her retreating form before turning to Chris who had his hands on his hair, gripping it in frustration. She did not know if he would appreciate any effort on her part to comfort him but she had to try anyway.

“Listen, I know you probably do not want to hear me right now but give her some time. She just lost her dad who resurfaced again and found out in less than forty hours that all that she knew and believed in were a lie. At least most of it was a lie. So, you, go cool off somewhere while I go stick close to her like white on rice like your boss said. Apparently I am now his employee.” May said to Chris calmly at first before ending her talk with sarcasm.

Without waiting for his response, she took left the car and headed in the direction that Blessing did, hopefully she would find her easily.
