Chapter 36
“Follow me,” she said after Marcus let her go from his tight embrace. She couldn’t wait for another chance to say everything that she wanted to tell him and a confrontation was overdue between them.
Marcus followed Daniella and he found out that there was a connecting door behind the wardrobe that connected her bedroom and their daughter’s playroom. It was a brilliant idea to have their daughter’s playroom close to her. The playroom had a coffee table, probably for the supervising adults, and he saw Daniella sitting in one of the chairs. “So you lied about my death?” He asked as soon as he was seated opposite her. They were both adults and mature enough to settle things out on their own. Marcus was outraged but he was willing to listen to her reason for lying, but the woman didn’t open her mouth to speak and just glared at him. “Answer me!” he shouted.
“Because it was the only way that they wouldn’t ask me about you! No one would care about the dead anymore, Marcus.” Fin
