Chapter 59

“Where are we going?” Daniella asked when Marcus told her to follow him outside. After lunch, AJ had to take a nap, and everyone was having siestas as they were accustomed to.

“We have to talk,” he said.

She agreed as they have a lot of things to be discussed especially when they were already in Oslob. “You said we have to talk, but why are you silent?” She probed why the man didn’t utter a word as they followed the path toward their private beach.

“I don’t know if we are on the right track,” Marcus replied.

Her heart panicked when he said it. “What do you mean?” Part of her wanted to know the real reason why he said it, and another part of her wanted to ignore his statement and just go on walking.

“I was supposed to take you to the vineyard, but it seemed that we’re going to the beach.” He responded but he was surprised when the woman slapped his arm. “Why?”

It was stupid of her to assume that Marcus said it in relation to their current situation
