Chapter 101
Alpha Kanen’s POV
Arriving at the hospital, I noticed a change in Rose’s mood. Instead of a cheerful reaction, she seemed distant, caught in a moment of moodiness. Approaching her bed, I greeted her, hoping to understand the cause of her unease.
“Hello, Rose,” I said, concerned.
Her reply, however, lacked the usual enthusiasm. “Here I am, still struggling,” she responded, avoiding eye contact.
Perplexed, I pressed for an explanation. “Why are you acting up, Rose? Did anything happen? Are you okay?” I inquired, wanting to know the reason behind her mood.
Rose, however, seemed mentally drained. “Alpha, please leave me to rest. I’m mentally stressed. There’s a whole lot to take in. This pack holds a lot of baggage, and I can’t seem to trust anyone. I wish Joe was here. I’m just tired of everything.”
I stood there, absorbing the heaviness of her words, contemplating how to show support and make her feel alright. I knew I contributed to her pain
