Rose’s POV

The moment my eyes fluttered open, Joe and Miraelle rushed to me, their faces filled with concern.

I barely had time to gather my thoughts before the questions started pouring in.

“What happened, Rose? What did you see?” Joe asked, his voice laced with urgency.

“Did you meet Kanen’s parents?” Miraelle added, her eyes wide with anticipation. “What did they say to you?”

And I became almost angry, not because of the future Kanen father told me but because of Miraelle.

I wondered what the guts she has to ask me such questions after so many years of hatred she has for me.

After so many years of pain she has put me through but then I waved it away.

All manner of questions kept coming, but I held up my hand to calm them.

I needed a moment to collect myself, to make sense of everything that had just transpired.

“Yes, I met Kanen’s parents,” I began, my voice still a little shaky from the experience.
