Before I even had a chance to respond to Jake, I noticed Alex running towards the bleachers. When he didn't find me there, he began looking around trying to find me.

I saw Becca and Oliver go inside the shower room. I knew what they were going to do next, and I shivered at the thought.

‘‘I’m sorry, but I have to go…’’ I shoved Jake to the side and went out from hiding behind the wall as I walked my way towards Alex.

‘‘Alex!’’ I yelled out, and he turned around with a smile. His hair was unkempt, still wet from the shower. ‘‘Let's go…’’

I didn’t need to turn back to check what Jake was doing but I knew for sure that he was watching me leave with Alex.

‘‘I’m sorry, but are you okay with motorbikes?’’ Alex asked as soon as we got out of school.
