CELINE’s POV

‘‘When did you get bitten by a snake?’’ I shrieked, feeling so panicked. My voice was obviously a little frantic and worried.

How did this happen? When did this happen?

‘‘I’m fine!” Sebastian snapped, pulling his hand back from my grasp, and his voice was unusually calm.

I frowned, thinking if I had missed any details, and that’s when I recalled how he pulled me tight in a hug earlier, when the snake was ready to attack me.

‘‘Did you block the snake for me?’’ I looked at him in shock. That was the only thing I could think of why he had been bitten by a snake. Why did he even do that? Why did he save me?

‘‘Don’t think too much, Celine…’’ he sneered. ‘‘Why would I even make myself hurt just because of you…?’’
