‘‘Celine... I was wondering if you wanted to talk to dad about this first…’’ I turned to look at Brylee when she asked about me staying at the Anderson’s villa and teaching Cynthia, but I couldn't help but catch a glimpse of Sebastian, who was standing off to the side but exuding a cold demeanor.

‘‘I think, there’s no need for that…’’ I smiled sweetly at her. ‘‘Don't be concerned, my dear sister; I will do everything in my power to succeed in this role...’’

Her expression turned more serious, and I could almost feel her clenching her teeth. When she smiled back at me, I was taken aback, and then she leaned over and whispered something in my ear. ‘‘Damn you, Celine! You're going to be sorry you did this...’’

I took a few steps back and grabbed Jake's arm, at which point I felt him flinch from my touch.
