Freya’s POV
“Please, don’t tell Xena I was involved. I don’t want to break her heart even more than I already have.” He says. He speaks so humbled. It’s a side of Lucas I never thought I’d ever see. I had never wanted this for us. I know I can be an ass, but he was a friend and one I cherished.
I grow more tired from having to deal with all this with every passing second.
“For old time’s sake, I won’t… but only because she’s going to hate you a whole lot more when she figures it out herself.” I respond. “She might be slow, but she’s not stupid.”
Giving him this one last grace, I pull the door open, walking into the office and slamming it shut behind me.
As expected, father is at his desk, looking over files with confidential pack information.
His eyes look up and light with fireworks once he sees me by the door, which only makes more dread settle at the pit of my gut.
He’s only ever this delighted when he has some new form of torture
