Emerald wasn’t worried about the security because a team of mercenaries was stationed nearby, and they monitored the house. Mary opened the door and asked. “Eh, they come again?”

Emerald’s heart almost stopped. She stood up and walked to the door. The same young military policeman who had driven her back at noon was standing at the door and said with an apologetic smile. “Mrs., the Commander just arrived home and told me to pick you up.”

Emerald was speechless. After a brief silence, she whispered something to Mary before stepping into the car to go back.

It was almost 11 o’clock when they arrived. Patrick was in bed reading a book when Emerald walked into the bedroom. To her amusement, he put down the book immediately when he saw her.

He seemed peaceful and focused compared to his usual coldness. He looked like a handsome young man with bright black eyes, not like the powerful boss of the mercenaries.

“What’s the matter?” She casually asked him.
