Chapter 99

A heaviness between us brings a static to the air, and I'm overcome with a need to wrap myself around him and squeeze him tight. I cannot imagine a life where Dane wasn't there and this confession somehow really brings home how completely lost to this boy I am. He can turn me inside out with a look or a word and make me exceptionally dependent on him with just an unguarded moment.

He leans into my forehead, sighing and keeping our noses together, running a hand through my hair before tugging my head closer and lassoing us together as he pulls me down onto the cushions. We turn in unison so we are face on and he wiggles close so my body and his fully become at one. His arm nestles across me so he can keep his flat palm on my cheek and locks us in place this way.

He's so close it's hard to focus on him and my vision blurs in and out, aware of every part of my skin tingling with the contact on his. Although I wanted his touch, it’s not hitting the mark like I thought it would
