“Why should I be?” Linford’s voice was cold, “The baby is not mine. By the way, don’t let the White family have any chance to interfere with the outcome.”
Drew knew what his best friend was hinting at. He nodded, “Got it.”
After hanging up the phone, Linford thought for a while and sent Cody a message, telling the boy that everything was fine and he was on his way back.

After finishing breakfast the next morning, Linford sent Cody and Candace to school.
Candace held Linford’s hand as they walked out of the door, “Dad, when will Mom come back?”
“She’ll be back soon,” Linford smiled. Cody didn’t ask anything. The boy realized how serious things were after what happened last night.
Cody didn’t say anything until he sat in the backseat and put his safety belt on, “How was your plan last night? Did you get anything?”
“My plan is still going, but I haven’t got anything yet,” Linford answered honestly, “But the result should be out soon.
