Adira’s POV

Rachel… I remembered how her hands hugged him tightly, they made a good pair. “She’s my sister,” he suddenly said.

Richard was eyeing my reaction but I stayed calm and collected.

“And did she send you here?”

“No! I came to check up on you. We had such a good time last time,” He said. I nodded and stood up.

“I think you should leave now,” I walked to the door. Richard followed me and held my hands.

“I didn’t come here on Rachel’s behalf, I genuinely just wanted to see how you’re doing,” he said.

“Thank you but you don’t have to worry about me,” I said firmly.

“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said and kissed my cheek, before I could respond, he was out of the door. I inhaled deeply as I heard a truck sound and I went outside.

“Hello, Ambrose,” I greeted.

“Hi!” he smiled at me cheerfully. I entered his truck and he drove us towards the village. He was drinking a beer and vibing to a song.
