“Room seven,” Alex confirmed as I slid into the seat across from him.
“They’ve been in there for forty minutes. I’ve seen the client—Arnold Hutchins—drunk enough that his judgment is severely impaired. Lake has been plying him with alcohol since they arrived.”
“Any indication of what’s happening in there?”
“The rooms are soundproofed for privacy, but I’ve noted the pattern. Lake enters looking determined but afraid. Hutchins is increasingly intoxicated but still mobile. Based on the time elapsed and the client’s condition, I’d estimate they’re past conversation and moving toward... physical activity.”
The euphemism made my jaw clench. “I need access to that room.”
“Sir, I really don’t think—”
“I wasn’t asking for your opinion, Alex. I need visual and audio on room seven immediately, and I need it without alerting the staff or other clients. Can you make that happen or not?”
