Chapter 160. No Secrets

“It’s okay. You are going to be alright. I am just here with you.” He kissed my head while he’s rocking me gently on his lap. We are on the balcony of his room relishing the air while I am still catching my breath from what happened earlier. “You are never alone, Alana. I am here. Always for you.”

I sniffed his scent and felt my heart rate going down. Back then and now, he is the only one who can comfort me in the ways that I never know he can.

“Did she trigger you?” he asked after a while of silence.

“Yes,” I answered while listening to his heart beat. Counting his heart beat seemed to be a hobby that I could never get bored of. “But it should not be about her anymore. I should be able to control myself. If I always get triggered by her, then I am just giving her another reason to control me. It should be the other way around.”

I looked up at him who’s already staring down at me. “I want to be strong for the both of us, William.
