Tish POV

I step out of Kaden’s office, and I know Kai is right behind me. I am exhausted and could really use a nap, but my pregnancy hormones are making my sex drive ridiculous. I sway my hips from side to side as I walk up the stairs, my breath getting heavier with each step.

The pack doctor warned me that carrying a werewolf as a human would be difficult, but some days, it can be pure hell. I pause halfway up the stairs, trying to catch my breath. That was my first mistake. Kai’s arms swoop in around me and he lifts me as if I don’t weigh a thing.

He settles me gently into his arms and squeezes me tightly. Pressing a playful kiss to my cheek, he carries me the rest of the way up the stairs.

“I can walk, you know,” I pretend to be offended.

“Could have fooled me,” he smirks.
