Chapter 568. Celestial

Destin POV

The door to my room shuts, and I look up to see Macy. She threatened to put me in the dungeons, but she has yet to make good on that threat. Instead, she put me in a bedroom in the Fae Palace and had it warded with magic. No matter how severe she tries to pretend to be, she can’t follow through.

“Are you here to take me to the dungeons?”

My words fall on deaf ears. She is pacing the floor, wringing her hands together. This is new. I lean forward to get a better look at her. Is this all part of the show? Is someone getting ready to burst through that door to demand answers from me?

“We have a problem.”

Her eyes are glittering with tears. She isn’t putting on a show. I am on my feet in an instant. “What happened?”

She holds her hands against her stomach, trying to control her breathing. “Gracus came to me this morning. He demanded that I look for the twins.”

“Shit,” I groan. “What did you tell him?”
