Ruby’s POV
Four Years Later
The night was enchanting and cool, with the full moon casting a glow that illuminated the lush garden around us. I nestled comfortably in Zylon’s lap, my arms wrapped around him as I rested my head on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat beneath the ancient oak tree behind the sprawling Hawthorne mansion.
The air was filled with laughter as we watched our son, Damon, joyfully play a game of tug of war with Archie and Tatum Jr., the son of my brother and Beth.
Damon was simply the perfect boy, full of boundless energy and an infectious smile that could light up even the darkest nights. We wondered whether he would inherit the legacy of being a chosen warrior wolf like me, but for now, it was still too early to tell.
“Dada, you’re out!” Damon exclaimed, his little finger aimed at his father. In his excitement, Damon shifted his weight too quickly, losing his balance, and before he knew it, the rope slipped
