"She didn't mean it. She definitely didn't mean it." Those were the words ringing in my head repeatedly as I sped down the road. Her words hurt, but I guess that's what happens when you care deeply about someone; you feel everything they do or say to a larger extent, and it was even more prominent because of the special situation between her and me.
"Fuck!" I swore as I quickly pushed down on the brake to avoid hitting a car that had suddenly pulled to a stop in front of me. "Sorry!" the young man called out, and I had to bite back the bitter words I was about to spew at him as I stepped on the gas.
