Chapter 39. Injured

MAGNUS

I stared into space. I missed Astrid and her scent greatly. Even though she didn't do much or interact much with me because of my attitude, the little joy I felt with her was immeasurable.

I regretted every single thing and behavior I had shown her. She was abused and ignored by her family, and I could feel her grief and unhappiness through the mate bond no matter how much she tried to hide them, yet I caused her pain.

I punched the wall next to me angrily. I just wanted to see her and apologize. I remembered my conversation with her maid, whom I had brought from her former pack.

#Flashback#

"Get me her maid," I ordered. Cayon nodded in response, disappearing through the hallway. I didn't know how to feel about her finally escaping, just when I wanted to apologize and start all over.

"Mate. I want a mate!" Kaiza demanded angrily. I sighed. I wanted her to, and I tried to find and get her back.
