Chapter 41. The Confrontation
“A thief did she imply? I am actually interested to know more about this Daphne girl. I haven’t seen her here since I arrived.” Phyna chipped in. “Who is she? And why is she being accused of stealing.”
“Phyna……….” Alpha Basit began.
“She is a common thief.” I immediately spoke up. “She stole from my mother and she ran away to escape punishment.”
“Awww that is an awfully terrible thing.” Phyna immediately replied too and turned to Daphne who looked like she was pissing her pants. “Is that so my dear? Have you indeed ran away because you stole?”
Pause.
Daphne didn’t reply. She simply stared at her food, trembling and unable to lift her head.
“I would assume you’re not the person to ask these questions madam Phyna, seeing as you have no relation to anyone here on this table.” George finally spoke up for the first time.
I looked at him. Of course he was dating enough to give a half insult half answer to his father’s guest.
