Jason’s POV

Lunch had gone well, and Abigail had managed to charm my parents; they had held off asking too many questions even though I knew it was killing my father. After lunch, my mother gave her a tour of the packhouse while the rest of us finished preparing her surprise party.

I had managed to steal her phone and send a message to Damien, letting him know she would be home later than expected. I knew he would be pissed! But tough he had had her to himself for days, it was my turn to spend time with her now and was I fuck rushing it so she could leave and run back into the arms of a demon.

I hadn’t forgotten my earlier attraction and pull to him, but once out of his immediate vicinity, whatever magic his father had cast had worn off, and I had remembered what a complete tool he was!
