Chapter 4
When you go left and there is no way, you turn right and when you turn right, and there is still no way, you go back.
But I can't give up. I need to understand all of these processes. Everything seems so new to me and I find it hard to understand. I don't even know I own a cell phone. I mean then, we cannot even afford the small one not to talk of this big one in my hand.
"My love," Desmond called.
Who is he calling his love?
I folded my arms but then I remembered that I have to still act normal. I need to act normal to make everything look normal. I was thankful that I was given a second chance to make everything right.
Just then he stretched forth his hand to touch me and I shifted back.
His face fell.
"What?"
"Nothing," I said, pulling a normal face.
"Then why are you running away from my touch?" He narrowed.
"Don't I have the right to? I don't just feel like it." I muttered and the middle-aged man who brought me to school approached me. He handed me a cell phone.
"Ma'am. You have forgotten this." He said and I looked at it. It was mine. I collected it and it vibrated. It kept vibrating and it fell off my hand. The driver picked it up.
"Remind me your name, Mr."
"Alex." The middle-aged man said.
"Oh. Mr Alex. Thank you for bringing me to school. I will go now."
I said and bid him goodbye. I breathe heavily and turned to leave when Desmond grabbed my wrist.
I turned to him.
"What do you want?" I said looking at my wrist.
"It's Desmond." He said.
"Desmond Gilbert. I know it's you. Get your hands off me." I said and he did immediately. I held my phone tightly and walked away. I need to make him feel the pain that he had caused me. How could he still face me after having an affair with Halley? He should go fuck Halley.
Now, I have three missions and I need to get everything completed.
Completed and I will continue to live my life peacefully. I continued walking into the building and I saw lockers made with better materials. Other students were lurking around the corner and all attention was diverted to me.
Okay, this is weird.
So weird.
I have graduated and my coming back to school still looks unbelievable even though I am here now. C’mon everyone, I am not a new student. I have been here before. Stop looking at me now. I developed cold feet and it doesn't feel good.
Just then three girls walked up to me. I could recognize them to be the three good-for-nothing troublemakers always making me a subject of a bully. Now, I am going to show them who the boss is when they trespass.
Kyle Maraj,
Cindy Gomez
Christy Daniels.
"Look who we have here," Kyle said smiling, playing with the tip of her hair.
Cindy smiled.
Christy stuck out her tongue at me. I scoffed, folding my arms.
"Her parents can afford new clothes now." Cindy mocked.
I would never allow them to speak ill of my parents. Not now, not ever.
Kyle moved closer to me, attempting to touch me but I shifted back.
"Oh, she is still scared."
"Come, I won't hurt you.
"Kyle proceeded to touch me again and this time she did. I didn't flinch. I stood still looking at her in the eyes.
"You think you are on our level now?" She blurted and attempts to rip my clothes off. I didn't know the force that threw her away from me. Wait, it came from me. Her butt landed on the floor. Christy bawled at me and attempted to slap me but her hand was caught instantly by another hand I don't know.
I turned to the person. It turned out to be him.
He was the last person I saw before I shut my eyes.
My wolf yelped happily and it turned out that Drake Hemsford was my mate.
"What are you doing, Drake? You should b defending me." Kyle yelled out as she stood on her feet.
Our eyes met. Those deep green eyes pierced into mine and I swear I felt butterflies in the depth of my belly. What the freak? I looked away immediately and walked away. I don't know why I told the moon goddess to pair us together.
Drake is a tall guy with a muscular body even though he is just nineteen. He is a year older than me. He had those deep, green eyes and his tattooed arms and neck made his aura powerful. He is Desmond's enemy and his best friend, Audrey.
I could understand the reason why Kyle was mad. She is Drake's girlfriend but rumour has it that they had broken up but Kyle doesn't want to accept that fact. But who cares? I don't give a fuck. Whatever is mine will always come back to me, no matter what.
Soon, the bell went on and it was time for class. I know my way around here. I went to class and settled on my seat. I wasn't bothered because I have been here before. I looked around and saw Halley approaching me. I turned away.
My phone vibrated.
I took it out and checked the message.
It was my mom.
I opened the message.
"Are you okay, dear? Are you not feeling, okay?"
The message read.
I don't even know how to reply.
"Bestie." I heard.
I turned.
"Hey, Halley," I said softly.
"Are you mad at me?" She asked.
I put on a fake smile. "No, I am not mad at you. What do you mean? We are friends right or are you hiding something from me?" I asked on purpose and she raised her face instantly.
"Uh! What? No, no. I am not hiding anything. We are friends, right?
"Of course, we are. C'mon, sit." I gestured and she sat beside me.
Just then the teacher entered the class and began to distribute the class test questions.
**
Throughout the test, I wasn't feeling comfortable because I felt someone staring at me. I felt hot.
I didn't know the test won't be that hard because I finished all. I remembered when I wrote the same exam, I failed. I failed but made the corrections then. The corrections saved me today and I am grateful for that.
"Hey, Iris. Let's grab some lunch. I am starving."
I only nodded. I packed my things and headed out to the cafeteria for lunch. Different foods were available.
Fried Chicken, potatoes, roasted bananas, cappuccino croissant, Salads. I don't even know what to pick. I went for salads and Fried chicken. I sat at the table and munched on the food softly.
It was then Desmond joined us.
I lost my appetite immediately and I dropped the fork on the table. I looked up at him. "What are you doing here?" I asked.
"What? What have I done wrong?" He asked.
I picked up the glass of water and gulped it down.
He wasn't expecting me to answer that question, right? Then I remember my plans. I shouldn't think about it. Let me just play along with his plans.
"Okay, you did nothing. Let's just eat. You haven't called me since yesterday and I am mad at you." I blurted.
"What? I did. We talked last night."
"Really? Did we talk last night? Are you cheating on me?"
He was shocked that I asked that question.
"Hmm...what? Cheat on you? I will never do that. I will never cheat on you, okay?" He assured but it hurts to still know that he was lying and that they are both dating.
"I just hope so because, by the time I find out that you are cheating on me, you will be sorry," I warned and I turned to Halley who pulled a nervous face. Her face was kind of sweaty and I watched as she rubbed her sweaty palm on her skinny jeans.
We continued eating but the image of the two of them on top of each other makes me want to puke.
I could feel the tension I created among us.
"I am taking you on a date tonight, will you be there?"
"Okay," I muttered and grabbed my bag, and made my way to the restroom.
Getting to the restroom, I was wowed by the mirror and I dropped my bag on the sink and rinsed my face and then, I started hearing moans.
"Oh fuck..."
"Fuck me…baby."
I turned to the direction of where the voice was coming from and the next thing, I heard was the slaps of skin. It made me remember Desmond and Halley. They were fucking each other before I died. Those crazy idiots. I will kill them with my own hands.
I swear to the moon goddess.
I rinsed my face again ignoring the moans. I wiped my face and raised my head just to see his reflection in the mirror.
Drake.
What does he want?
