Chapter 36
Killian's point of view
I stood frozen. It was like every blood in my body had drained. I felt so numb to the pain that choked my chest. My eyes scanned Sheila's face, pausing on her lips, then back to her eyes. My brows furrowed confusedly at her, observing her as if contemplating if Sheila was seriously just rejecting me.
Her firm gaze and solemnity told me that she meant every bloody word she said. She rejected me. But it's completely useless if I don't accept her rejection.
The pain in my chest slowly morphed into anger.
I laughed. I let go of her as my lips kept releasing laughter, which caused tears to form in my eyes.
