Chapter 55. Aunt Julia

The earth stood still, my mind went blank and my heart felt heavy. It was filled with pain and questions. If it wasn't for Zander's hold around my waist, then I would surely tumble to the ground.

"Hazel, Hazel... talk to me, Kitten!" Zander's voice sounded like he was far away, even though he was standing right in front of me. "Kitten please snap out of it." He moved his hands from my waist and settled them on my shoulders. He shook me hard, but I still did not respond. I was just staring into space, dazed and confused.

He tugged me to his muscular body and encased me into a warm hug. He lowered his head to the crook of my neck. "Hazel, everything will be ok, I promise." He pulled away from the hug and lowered his head to my eyes. "Hazel? I don't know what to do. You're not talking to me....shit! You're not even blinking. I think I should call someone....maybe Gabrielle."
