HAZEL

We stood in the doorway for a good minute before either of us attempted to move. The silence even grew awkward, it hadn’t done that before but I felt like I wanted someone to come and interrupt us because I had nothing to say to break the awkwardness.

It couldn’t be just words from him, I had to feel that I was on the same two-meter level as he was. Not like I was below him, a piece of meat that he could chain up when I disobeyed and that’s where I was right now. That’s what I felt like.

We couldn’t be anything to each other until I felt strong enough to take a position next to him and find my way back to my strength.
