Chapter 17. I Have A Plan

 In the following days I made a lot of effort to be close to Mercedes. 

 She refused to attend the diners in the packhouse after the first fiasco. Her father had a serious conversation with mine about this. The Beta eventually convinced him that it was better not to force Mercedes into something she was not really interested in. 

By then, I knew I had to change my plan to get close to her again before the Alpha returned. I started paying more attention to her, completely abandoning my homeboys. I explained that I would not be able to deal with them for a while because I wanted to win Mercedes for myself. Of course, I knew they wouldn't keep this information to themselves, and the whole pack would soon realize I'd got my eyes on the Beta's daughter.

 So, I started to compliment Mercedes in front of third parties and treat her as if she was someone special to me during the joint classes. She mostly ignores me all the time and only responds to my pus
