Nate's POV

“We have to be very discreet about this search.”

“I know, I can’t have anything go wrong at all.”

“Alpha.”

I heard Scott say from the rear as he pushed one of the maids in.

“I found her scurrying around the hall. I think she was eavesdropping on your conversation.”

I looked at her calmly. I can't afford to get angry right now. I will listen to her first.

“What is your name?”

“Irene.”

“You are that maid who came from my uncle’s pack.”

“Yes, Alpha.”

“Why were you lurking around?”

“I’m sorry. I just wanted to know how far it was going with the unit. If you must know, I used to work with her and I miss her.”

I can sense the sincerity behind her words and I knew immediately that she meant no harm.

“Have her come with us in the search.”

“What?” Danny asked.

“Why make that kind of decision all of a sudden?”

“Come to think of it, she is a maid and she could help
