Maybe something has happened to her, I thought as we tried all to no avail to reach Irene. It has been over two days now.

Her mum hasn’t talked to her dad for a long time now, and I’m sure she is just hoping that the girl is fine since she will not have tic intact him but seeing how long it was taking we might have to reach out to him.

“Either of us could do the talking if you don’t want to talk to him

“We will try to reach her through the mind link first,” Maya said as she headed out. I followed her.

The psychic link between them hummed to life, forming an invisible bridge of thoughts and emotions. My voice, tinged with worry, reverberated in Maya's mind. "Irene, are you there? What's happening?"

Silence greeted my mental call, and anxiety tightened its grip around her heart. The bond she shared with Maya allowed for seamless communication, but the absence of Irene's response left an unsettling void.
