BRIANNA’S POV
For a moment, I was bereft of words. I didn’t even know what to think or how to react. Her sudden change in character had swept me over like a tidal wave. It must have taken a lot for her to do this. To become like this.
“And Hermes?” I asked lowly, almost hesitantly with little hope that he might have changed too over the past few hours I had seen him.
The heavy sigh that escaped her nostrils hinted at a deep sorrow and frustration. At once, I already knew the answer.
“Hermes has turned into something I can’t recognize anymore. I think I have lost my brother,” she said and lowered her head in shame and defeat. “He was recently diagnosed of brain tumour. It was late detection, so before we found it had already grown to the size of a tangerine at the base of his skull. The doctor said he had to undergo surgery which is due in a week. But he said he won’t come. He doesn’t pay attention to me or listen to what I say because I’m always pestering him
