Chapter 77. The Perfect Dress

Larog's POV

“Like I have said, you are too kind with your words,” I said and while their words were kind, I could not shake off the feeling in the pit of my stomach that something was not right.

“Would you mind stopping by at the council? Altid mentioned he could use your insight in managing the council's finances,” said Cyrus. I did not like how this conversation had turned out to be but I had no choice but to comply.

“I will stop by at the council although I am sure there's nothing much I have to offer,” I said.

“Just put Altid through some things. He's great at everything but the finances of the council is a mess; he needs help.”

I left Cyrus' presence feeling as though he had told me one thing but meant some other things. However there was no evidence to suggest that he was lying
