After the noble ministers had dispersed, Cyrus made an attempt to escape me but I intercepted him before he could leave the throne room.
“I searched the palace for you,” my tone was accusatory.
“The palace is a big place, even I don't know it all,” his response was vague. Wherever he had been he was reluctant to reveal his whereabouts.

I knew his disappearance had nothing to do with hunting not just because he had no kill to show for it but because he was avoiding my gaze.
