Chapter 24

Zack’s POV

I made it to the top floor and used my wolf senses to sniff out which room she was in. I moved to the door that held her scent. I mentally prepared myself for whatever was on the other side. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do if she was up to no good.

What more could I do?

I took the one thing that made her evil and yet I still feel it wasn’t enough. I took a deep breath and opened the door. The room was empty. I looked around for anything suspicious and only found a black box on the floor.

Before I could inspect it, Alaia appeared from the bathroom. She stopped in her tracks and looked at me. I could tell she already knew I was here.

“What do you want, brother?” she asked. There was a towel in her hands and I could faintly smell blood.
