Chapter 49

He placed the pan on the stove, listening as his Kitten approached him. He really was a worthless mate, his mother had said it before and he wouldn’t mind if she said it again. This morning he had gotten up early; showered and brushed his teeth then came down to the kitchen in aid of making her breakfast.

He failed drastically though, and now he was here taking cooking lessons from her. How worthless, but at least when he learned now, he’d be able to fry her eggs in the future.

He spun the gauge on the stove then lit it with a lighter before adjusting the pot above it. “Mom had ‘donated’ all these kitchen utensils to me despite knowing I’d never use them. She said just in case I got mated to a woman who can cook…I guess these pots and pans really came in handy.” He smiled over at Celeste. “What’s next? Mom said that butter can be used to grease the pan, but I know oil can be used too, which do you prefer?”

“W-well I-I always use the oil.”

“Okay, I understand.
